Medical and Social Monitoring System
Client's terminal station based on the control unit ASTV-WS

This monitoring system is aimed to help handicapped and/or solitary persons by technical means, enabling them to be left in their own homes instead being treated by appropriate institutions. A network of clients' terminal stations, each controlled by its own ASTV-WS, communicate with a unique central dispatcher working place via public switched or private telephone networks. Data transmission as well as a loud voice conversation between client and dispatcher personnel is enabled.
A basic terminal station arrangement involves following components:
A terminal station is activated and gives an alarm call to the central dispatcher working place in three basic cases:
Control Unit ASTV-WS
ASTV-WS is an electronically, by microprocessor controlled device, monitoring the client through connected components. It enables power supply of the terminal station. In its case also a stand by accumulator is placed (for the case of main failure).
If the activation of the terminal occurs, ASTV-WS automatically executes the telephone connection to the central dispatcher working place giving first the necessary data and enabling after that the loud voice conversation between the client and dispatching personnel.
During still times ASTV-WS ensures technical testing and diagnostic functions for the whole terminal, giving corresponding data automatically to the central working place.
Telephone Apparatus with Loud Operation Option
Except common use the telephone apparatus enables the loud voice conversation between the client and dispatching personnel without any client's need to put up the phone. In a flat the apparatus should be placed at the point of the most frequent client's movement to be in reasonable distance at the casual moment of need.
Wireless Transmitter and for Emergency Signalling
By pushing the button of the wireless microswitch, fastened on clients body e.g.. by a neck string, a coded radio signal is given from the microswitch to the receiver in control unit and thus the activation of the terminal station has been started.
The receiver accepts the radio coded signal and activates ASTV-WS control unit which further starts the telephone call to the central dispatcher working place. After getting the connection necessary data concerning client's identification and type of event are transmitted and confirmed. In the next step the system automatically puts through the client to the dispatching personnel enabling thus necessary loud voice conversation. Except pushing the button no other client's action is required.
PIR Sensor for In-Room Movement Checking
PIR sensor reacts to the movement of any body in its activity area and after registered movement gives an activation signal to the ASTV-WS control unit. Wall mounted sensor should be placed at the point from which its activity area covers the room of the most frequent client's movement through the flat.
PIR sensor is wireless connected to so called "Time Supervision Loop" which is a function incorporated in the ASTV-WS device. This function is aimed to register "no client's movement" (if totally disabled) during an adjustable time period (e.g. 12 hours). In the case the PIR sensor has not registrated any in-room movement during adjusted time period, ASTV-WS starts automatically calling alarm to the central dispatcher working place.
If the client intends to leave his flat on some purpose (to do his shopping) he has switch key button on multifunction wireless transmitter. The PIR function turns to guarding the flat and the terminal would be activated by any intruder's in-room movement. Corresponding information would be given to the central dispatcher working place.
